Analysis of Proclamation
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
When I came unto you,
Did not come proclaiming;
Testimony as true,
Without any blaming.
I testify for God,
In my speech or wisdom;
Giving honor and laud,
To enter His Kingdom.
I decided to know,
Of nothing about you;
Rather what Christ does show,
As to what you construe.
I was with you when weak,
In fear and much trembling;
The crucified did seek,
Of the message sending.
My speech and my message,
Not in plausible words;
Wisdom to give passage,
On your faith and records.
Showing of the Spirit,
That your faith has power;
Reflecting on merit,
The lack makes you cower.
That your faith might not rest,
In the wisdom of men;
Power from God is best,
For now as it was then.
