Analysis of Forward

Life moves forward at such a rapid pace
One day at a time though, a fast slow race
The ego likes to act like life’s never in a bad place
So come on, get through it, put on a happy face

You can get far ahead or drop way behind
Or, like most of the folk, you just fall right in line
It’s there where you pause and become stagnant, no doubt
Months turn to years, bringing happiness droughts

When you do fall behind, it’s hard to dig yourself out
Wondering what the hell life’s all about
Suffering and hurting and just can’t catch a break
Pleading for life just to live for God’s sake

It honestly is such a slap in the face
To be looked at by people as such a disgrace
You think that skid rowers want to live in that place?
Bench sleepers held down by Fed funding, closed case

If you do leap ahead and seize life by the balls
It could be you in that mansion with dozens of halls
Call out all your haters, I’m sure they’re appalled
They’d maybe be happy if their life hadn’t stalled

I’m finally finished rocking the boat
There’s those who just hurt and those who can gloat
But the biggest lesson in life is to never forget
Change comes in an instant, move forward without regret
