Analysis of The New Life
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
This I say and testify,
That you must no longer walk;
Never trying to deny,
Futility of your talk.
The vanity of your mind,
Darkens your understanding;
In God you become blind,
Of what He is commanding.
For the hardness of your heart,
Becomes callous from the past;
You need to have a new start,
Enabled to ever last.
Avoid your impurity,
That is coming from your greed;
In Christ learn the security,
In asking God what you need.
Assuming that you have heard,
For the truth of what Christ taught;
Start studying of His Word,
For the answers that you sought.
Put off of your former life,
With deceitful desires;
Which were being filled with strife,
That the darkness requires.
Be renewed in the Spirit,
That a new self will create;
For the likeness you merit,
For avoiding an ill-fate.
