Analysis of Wisdom Brings Happiness
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
Bless anyone who finds wisdom,
The one who gets understanding;
On how to enter His Kingdom,
By what God is demanding.
For the merchandise is better,
Than the gain of silver and gold;
Follow His Law to the letter,
By doing to what it has told.
Wisdom is more precious than jewels,
Nothing you desire compares;
Because it is giving the tools,
That are needed for in your prayers.
In the right hand gives you long life,
The left hand holds wealth and honor;
The tools for avoiding any strife,
Having respect as a fawner.
Its ways are ways of pleasantness,
All of its paths leading to peace;
That will result in blessedness,
Guiding delights that will not cease.
A tree of life that will lay hold,
And will bless them with ripen fruit;
While growing its branches unfold,
Underground will deepen the root.
By wisdom the Lord found the earth,
Understanding set up Heaven;
In the glory of all its worth,
From benefits we are given.
By its knowledge depths are broken,
As the clouds are dropping the dew;
Through the Word that God has spoken,
Wisdom is helping to construe.
