Analysis of Forgiving

Forgiving to do it,
Shouldn't sustain...
A painful to remember,
Activity that remains.
And we all say we do it done.
But the heart revisits to reminisce,
That someone or anyone...
Doing with intent,
Without clue or hint...
An action meant.
Did done to do as if given consent.
Delivered from hearing words heard,
Neither true or pursued...
Any involvement or use of common sense.

Yet...
It is always those victimized,
By lies told to tell.
Who are expected to forgive and forget,
A pain that still remains...
As if affixed within their hearts to dwell.
Attempting to mend...
After being demeaned.
In scenes long to have passed.
Created by an act,
Unnecessary to have had enacted.

However and how long it takes,
To forget in one's face what took place?
Seems an unrelenting purpose.
Knowing this experience,
Is neither unique everyday of each week.
Throughout every month.
From one year to the next,
Leaving someone else...
Feeling stunned by others,
Just as unconscious.
With the same shared thoughtlessness
Reacting to something pointless and dumb.
And you can't call it stupid.
If this 'normalcy' seems to be everyone's.

Since...
A forgiving of such stupidity,
Remains an expectation to give and receive.
And if that apology is heard to refuse?
Guess who will be the one,
Told to others with a blaming to accuse...
Who the one is,
Having the nerve to ask for an explanation!
As if this is a right thing for them to do.

'You will not believe,
Who refuse my apology today.
By asking for an explanation.
As to what I did many years ago.
On their minds as if glued to stay.
Even though I remember what I did,
What sense does it make...
To explain why?
I did what I did and so what?
Give me a break.
People should learn to forgive and forget.
And shake away,
From those ugly attitudes.
You feel me?

'You have no idea.
I stepped on someone's foot,
The other day.
And they looked at me,
As if I should say something.
They knew and I did too,
It was not intentional.'

'People have their expectations,
Raise too high if you ask me.
Well...
Anyway,
Afterall...
I was the one,
Who went out of my way to apologize!'

'I didn't.
And don't give me that look,
As if I am obligated to do so.
What is wrong with these people?
People these days,
Are not only unappreciative.
But thoughtless and ungrateful as well.
If I were you,
I wouldn't say another word,
To whoever that was,
Who believed themselves to be...
The chips and dip,
Made with whipped Bleu cheese.
You should try that it's good.'

'Not yet, but I will.
Let me finish.
OH, I'm not.
I had never felt so disrespected in my life.'

'And...
You went to them to apologize?
And they wanted an explanation,
For what it was you did too?!
Where on Earth,
Do people like that come from?
Me?
I would not have gone out of my way,
To be embarrassed like that!
You give the Moon and stars to some folks...
And the next thing they expect,
Is a life to live without a cloud in the sky!
Me?
I wouldn't be that forgiving.
And I suggest,
You forget people like that and move on.
Don't allow yourself to get upset like that!
Trust me,
Moving on is the best remedy.'

'I thank God to have friends like you,
Who understand me as you do.'

'Don't worry about it.
What are friends to have them for?
Oh..Tostatos?
They are the best.
Regular chips?
Don't give you the same flavor.'

'Flavor?
What flavor?'

'Geeessshhh.
From the dip.
Are you paying any attention to me at all?
They are made out of corn.
Mexicans call them Tostados.'

'Tostados?
What are Tostados?'

'The CHIPS!
GOD? Up in Heaven above.
Are YOU listening to this?'
