Analysis of The Love Command
This is the message that you heard,
That you should love one another;
From the beginning in the Word,
Treat them as sister and brother.
We should never be just like Cain,
The evil one killed his brother;
Causing another of such pain,
His own deeds hating another.
Because his own deeds were evil,
Murdered one for their righteousness;
Doing the works of the devil,
For envy with such brazenness.
Be not surprised the world hates you,
Marvel not from hate by the world;
Because they can never construe,
While jeering insults are hurled.
We know that pass from death to life,
Because of love for all mankind;
He who hates will see death through strife,
Since they have evil in their mind.
A murderer is one who hates,
Eternal life not possible;
While love to the one that waits,
Because they are charitable.
We know that Christ laid down His life,
So we should lay down our lives;
Even though in the midst of strife,
For spiritual faith still survives.
Anyone who has worldly things,
And sees that their brother in need;
Should be sharing what it brings,
Not allowing a sense of greed.
Let us not love in word or talk,
Rather through deed and of the truth;
Assure our hearts where we walk,
Never in becoming uncouth.
