Analysis of Claiming Themselves Believers

Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)

If God has given me,
The blessing of life to experience.
I feel obligated to express,
My appreciation and awareness.
With a doing to pray.
Throughout each and everyday.
Done to realize,
Never should I ever take for granted...
This gift of life given.
To live it with others sharing,
Ways to become better human beings.
Choosing to refuse,
Ignorance as a path that results...
In a happier way of life to decide,
It is best to live it.
Than knowing to witness choices made,
By others afraid of using their faith.
But remain to claim themselves,
True believers!
Although...
Fear truth to face,
Wherever it is heard to hear spoken.

'Who has you convinced,
That a fearing to live your life...
Is a benefit?'

'You don't understand.
I have bills to pay.
A status to keep.
And impressions to make.'

'What about your faith?
You know...
What you claim to have so much of?'

'God has nothing to do,
With the reality I am living through.
And besides,
I don't have time like that to waste.'

'You are not alone!'

'So...
You admit,
Having the same issues?'

'No!
I already know I am not alone.
However...
Apparently you don't.
And have chosen to stay feeling that way.'

'You don't know me.
Or the life I live.'

'Do I have to?
I am not the one,
Heard claiming to be of faith.
Living it keeps me observant!'
