Analysis of Under Pressure
Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)
Isn't ironic when someone is described,
As being under pressure.
When reacting to defend,
Offensive comments made to them.
Or family members sitting near,
Disbelieving what they hear.
To then make it clear to have it observed,
They will not tolerate...
Their integrity, dignity or identity,
Treated as a joke.
By anyone who earns a living,
Being intelligent enough to know...
Stepping on toes for the entertainment of it,
Can return a broken nose.
With just one punch among stars to see,
In a variety of colors witnessed.
And not to expect its vivid effectiveness!
'What happened to occur?'
'Stars colliding.
And no one seemed,
Disappointed or under pressure.
When one's quick blow,
Had been delivered and swiftly bestowed.'
'But...
Was the path those stars took to take,
Unnecessary to prevent the collision?'
'That depends,
On whose pretensions were insulted.
And who sat anticipating,
A clear and decisive knock out!'
'Insults tossed about,
Should have their price to pay.
Regardless who gets paid,
To be an A-listed fool to insult...
Whomever they choose when and where,
Done to do it for laughs.
As they bathe in the limelight,
Of an adoring ignorant reaction.'
