Analysis of Man’s Subjective Mind

Is “Nothing” zero?
Some ask Neil DeGrasse Tyson.
Astrophysicist.
Whether there is a nexus
Of science and religion.

Tyson denies this.
“Objective Reality”
Is what he invokes.
His scientific mantra.
“They cannot be reconciled.”

Such audacity.
That science is objective
As a product of
Man’s subjective mind.
Itself of mythic making.

About this poem

This three-stanza Tanka poem, “Man’s Subjective Mind,” was composed as a result of my attorney son, Bryan, querying his siblings (and me) about a 2021 Utube post entitled “Neil DeGrasse Tyson Explains Nothing” and, referring to my online poem called “Magical Zero,” asking as follows: “Is this what dad means by Zero?” Seeing my son’s texted post to his siblings, I responded with the following statement: The human mind (DeGrasse Tyson’s included) cannot contain that which cannot be contained. The All (God), being beyond comprehension, cannot be contained. And “nothing” or zero (“Magical Zero”), conceived by human mind as “nothing,” likewise cannot be contained. Hence zero, being like nothing, must be the all, the container of all. Man cannot comprehend “Nothing.” And man cannot comprehend “The All.” Thus both “ Nothing “ and “The All,” called Infinity, or The Infinite, must be of equivalent values, the Objective Alpha and the Omega, and therefore remain a great impenetrable mystery to man’s subjective mind. This newly-created poem, “Man’s Subjective Mind,” is my more robust public response posted for responses from a larger audience of readers.
