All those many years ago, when first we two did meet
I thought I might be the one to sweep you off your feet
Something did click between us, of that it can be said
Just over twelve months later the two of us were wed
We shared a life together through joy and sadness too
Until the saddest day of all, the day that I lost you
My love for you never weaned, nor will it any day
God has you in His keeping but in my heart you stay
Although my heart is broken I know that it will mend
When we both shall meet again, there at my journey’s end
