Analysis of Escapist

Jose Delgado 1955 (Manila)

Impressionist hands
In a pond lachrymal colors
Move in a cat-like fashion
Splattering, shedding rainbow hues
In a beige canvas
Silhouetting images:
Camel in a burning desert
Awakened cactus flowers
Honey-sweet dates
Innocent oasis
Solitary Bedouin
The tireless fingers move on
Ignoring the writhing numbness
Giving vent to boredom of mind
Emptiness of the heart
Inhibiting every denseness
Draining the soul
Of an absurd discord
A once ideal love
Now a haunting canvas!
