Analysis of Enchantment Gone To Mourn

Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)

More adoring will be with sustained ability.
An enchantment.
Gone to mourn,
The life and decades...
Of a queen seen more as a fantasy.
Than an actual dedicated,
And admired living devoted human being.
Kept in the minds of many to believe,
Her reign would last for all eternity.

Born Elizabeth Alexandra Mary.
A princess.
Young, beautiful and bright.
To then early in her life,
Become her country's queen.
And at the age of twenty six.
Anointed to reign and sit.
On a throne that seemed,
To have happened overnight.
Even though young.
Queen Elizabeth II proved to everyone,
Not only had she been prepared.
But for 70 years did this to do.
And today,
People the World over...
Are not only stunned but also much aware,
Of what this Monarch...
Has lived to show it done.
Who can dispute,
Queen Elizabeth II...
Is the last of her kind.
And a difficult act to follow.
To attempt the time wasted to find.

Enchantment enhanced.
Is what Queen Elizabeth II has done.
And as the only to sit as she did,
Doing it with grace, poise and dedication.
With an example to set,
For everyone.
Not to delude or fiction but do.

'Okay.
But she was also born into wealth.
Inherited from a long line,
Of status and 'handed-down' royalty.'

'So...
This has nothing to do,
With proving herself to be a human being?

Giving you an excuse,
Without those things...
Like others less fortunate,
Who...
Have nothing left but to express disrespect.
For themselves and everyone else.
Because of what you don't have to impress?'

'And you?
When was the last time you remember,
Affording to be enchanted?
Hmmm?'

'There you go.
Always taking a moment of mourning.
To change the subject.
For once can we discuss,
Something that is not about us?'

'I can, yes.
How about you?
Or prove you are making attempts to try!'

'Go ahead.
Blame the observer.
I am prepared to be belittled.
I am prepared to be abused and shunned.
I am prepared....'

'Overly theatrical.
And a scene stealing drama queen!'

'Your flattery overwhelms my performance.
And yet...
I remain humble,
In the presence of the attention you give. Please...
No need am I for your approval or applause.'

'My foot?
It twitches.'

'Your foot?
Why would it twitch?'

'It seems to wish,
Wanting to put it where it doesn't belong.'

'And where would that be might I ask?'

'Never ask for something,
You may not suspect...
From where it swiftly comes!'
