Analysis of The Gate

Joseph m Novo 1951 (Watsonville Ca)

Ode

Well here I am
Standing before
The Gate
My journey
It has been long
And most interesting
Through the many
Miles that I have traveled
I have met and seen
The most amazing
People and places
Most dear was my family
All the joys and tears
It was felt
Were worth every minute
Tolls and trials
Were difficult
Along the way
My body paid the price
For so many years of
Care and feeding
To the ones I loved
The gatekeeper
Asked why did I do all that
I answered,
Because I loved them
