Analysis of Consistenly Inconsistent
Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)
Perhaps it is the living,
In New England that seems...
One becomes aware to be prepared,
For just about anything.
The seasons?
Are beautiful.
Every one that comes.
To notice to know,
None stays that way.
In Autumn when leaves,
Begin to fall from the trees.
That does not mean,
Summer has left.
For anyone to prepare,
Winter soon comes and with it snow.
No!
In between seasons,
And throughout each year.
The heat of Summer,
May again reappear.
Some may leave their homes,
Fully clothed in the mornings.
Dressed prepared,
For the cold winds that blow.
And hours to see others,
Wearing shorts and their bodies exposed.
Doing their best,
To avoid the humidity and its heat.
And then when Spring,
Again approaches.
There may be a snow storm.
Not to expect it coming on.
Since the grass is turning green.
To witness the blooming of buds,
Anticipating Winter has gone...
Finally.
Then suddenly without warning,
Those April showers bringing May flowers...
Are picked to carry to the beach.
Before Summer is announced,
By the weatherman following...
A calendar, up to date technology.
But not eyes to see,
It's Mother Nature in control of reality.
Also...
Consistently inconsistent,
Are decisions, opinions and positions taken...
By politicians.
And in New England?
Many have been prepare to adjust and adapt,
To most anything to know...
What is said to hear it heard,
Has little to do...
With the truth and its reality to face it lived!
'How insensitive, offensive and critical,
Your comments are to make.'
'You forget to mention,
Sweetless, direct and cynical.
With a touch of cool yet thawed indifference.
I was born and raised in New England.
Where fiction to delude reality,
Can be an expense price to pay.
Especially in the Winter.
When few could care less,
Who they impress...
With a dressing of false pretensions kept.
And you?
Are coming from where?
An appropriate accepted and approved,
Proper etiquette?'
'Yes.
And what is wrong with that?'
'Hey.
I can not afford to judge.
However...
I do the best I can to stay opinionated.
It's a whole lot cheaper and less expensive.
Than making attempts,
To keep up appearances...
With the Joneses.'
'What?
With the who?'
