Analysis of Butter For My Thoughts
Waiting for doom to sweep the rest of this life from under me
I been standing on these two feet , thank God they still carry me
I been looking out , up at the sky hoping to be seen
Praying and repenting asking the Lord to show me my ways
Calling out loud to the love I let get away
Only feeling left to feel has always been pain
Cause every heart break is a lesson that deems me insane
But I believe after the first one you’re no longer the same
Aching hearts are hard to put away
You spend hours and days neatly tucking your grief away
Knowing deep down you can't go on - you won't go on
Cause you haven't given yourself time to heal , to carry on …
And to your soul, that's a big deal
You need to be able to think straight
But shit gets hard with old feelings still in the way
Old love still smiling in your face
Times when you have to turn the music down and pace in place
Think of what you truly wanna say
Is it love or did lust grow a face
