Analysis of Something. Anything Said To Say

Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)

I am hoping for something,
Anything...
Said to say to you I do.
Makes sense.
Without you turning my thoughts to share,
Into a competition of words heard.
From another to evaluate and compare,
Who has said what to say to you to hear.
When you would rather argue.
Just for the purpose,
To avoid the truth spoken.
While keeping your stubbornness,
As  your usual defense.
With that to do to prove,
A winning to have won.
The making it convincingly clear,
You will remain to claim a placing of blame...
On the very ones you have asked,
For their opinions to make.
When you can not sit to listen,
To one word said to say.
Without interrupting to comprehend,
I did not nor did they or anyone else...
Asked from you,
A gift of a headache as a wish to want it.
Done to receive repeatedly.

'Okay.
That remark was unintentionally rude.
But I do accept,
Your unique way of expressing yourself.
I get the message.
But do you mind my asking,
You just one more question?'

Yes I do mind.
And no I will not sit,
Pretending your interruptions...
Keep me feeling in bliss and not tormented!

'Come on.
I'm serious.'

And...
I am not.
Have you noticed anything?

Not one sip have I taken,
From this half pint of vodka.
I have got right here in my pocket.
For emergencies.

'Emergencies?
What emergencies?'

Those I attempt to prevent from happening!

'You always find something to joke about.'

I hope my determination you will not test!
The last time I was here,
I left and smoked a pack of cigarettes.
In 20 minutes.

'Will you stop.'

I am hoping for that too to do.
I gotta go.

'Where?
Where are you going?'

That...
I don't know yet.
But...
I am willing to bet,
When I reach your door and open it.
The next steps I take,
Others did not find theirs taken to regret!
