Analysis of Awaiting To Betray
Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)
These days it seems,
Minds of those once to believe conscious...
Have become more interested,
In taking 'selfies' downloaded to send...
Either emailed or done,
In chat rooms to friends.
Awaiting to be accused of treasonous acts.
For the purpose to serve,
Both attention and allegations made...
That demands someone will find them,
Unpatriotic yet attractive.
And willing to betray all values of life to live.
To get themselves interviewed on TV.
With the hopes their efforts to endeavor,
Lands them a 'Reality' TV show.
Done to explain,
The disgusting things they had to go through.
To be ultimately discovered,
For their ability to achieve high ratings.
Based upon their beauty, talent.
And revealed marketing skills.
'We love your willingness to be honest.
With this to admit to your audience.
However...
If we allow and permit your TV show,
Your potential advertisers...
Are seeking more trash and garbage.
And...
All that confessions of sins,
To have committed in your life?
Sells.'
'SELLS?
TO WHO?'
'To a particular suburban demographic.
The self righteous holier than thou crowd.'
'I don't want to be considered a SELLOUT.
I have my reputation to maintain.'
'Terrific.
That's great.
You do comedy as well.
Wonderful.
I have just the name for your show.
AWAITING TO BETRAY FICTION TO DELUDE.'
