Analysis of A Final Warning
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
The day comes burns like an oven,
When all the arrogant stumble;
The evildoers are sloven,
Gnashing their teeth as they grumble.
That day comes shall set them ablaze,
Leaving them neither branch nor root;
Darkness will be filling their days,
Without vegetables or fruit.
But for those who fear will the name,
The sun of righteousness shall rise;
Healing in its wings to proclaim,
And the wisdom to make you wise.
Like calves in a stall, you will grow,
And you shall tread upon evil;
Ashes under your feet shall show,
That would remain of the devil.
Remember the Law that God gave,
Through Moses the statutes and rules;
After rescuing you as a slave,
So that no longer be the fools.
The prophet Elijah God has sent,
Before the great and awesome day;
Offering those who will repent,
The path of the heavenly way.
He shall turn the heart of fathers,
Unto the children of their hearts;
Smite and curse the land of loathers,
Utter wipeout of their ramparts.
