Analysis of God Our Refuge
God is my refuge and strength,
My true present help in trouble;
Persevering at any length,
Pulling me out of the rubble.
I fear not though the earth gives way,
And mountains move into the sea;
Its waters roar as the waves sway,
Land trembles where it used to be.
There are rivers that streams made glad,
Of the holy habitation;
A city never to be sad,
For the Most High of Creation.
God is in the midst of the bride,
God will help her when morning dawns;
She shall continue to abide,
Inhabitants dancing like fawns.
Nations rage and kingdoms totter,
The earth melts as His voice utters;
Steam evaporates the water,
But the righteous the Lord buffers.
The Lord of Host is with us all,
God of Jacob our fortress;
A refuge catching our fall,
Comforting us when in distress.
Come, behold the works of the Lord,
How He brought earthly destruction;
Punishing all those who ignored,
He called to them for salvation.
He makes wars cease to end the earth,
He breaks bows and shatters the spear,
Burning desire for new birth,
The earth and Heaven disappear.
Be still and know that He is God,
Exalted amongst the nations;
Giving to Him honor and laud,
And making them new creations.
