Analysis of The New Creations
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
I saw a new Heaven and earth,
For the first ones had passed away;
The seas no longer show their worth,
They continued to go astray.
And I saw the holy city,
The bride of Christ, Jerusalem;
Zion came down looking pretty,
His chosen as their asylum.
Behold, the dwelling place of God,
Where He will dwell with His people;
Enabled to honor and laud,
A city that is His temple.
He will wipe all tears from their eyes,
No more death nor neither mourning;
No more pain nor deceit nor lies,
No more discontent or warring.
For God has made everything new,
He’s the beginning and the end;
These words are trustworthy and true,
Not just God but also your friend.
The water of life to those who thirst,
The spring of life to freely give;
No longer anyone is cursed,
So you may eternally live.
Whoever lives will inherit,
They will become children of God;
Because of faith, not just merit,
Cured and cleansed where they had been flawed.
But the cowardly and faithless,
The whoremongers and the liars;
The murderers and the guiltless,
Cast into the burning fires.
