Analysis of A Holy Living Calling
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
Prepare your mind for action,
Hope to the end for the grace;
Jesus Christ’s revelation,
In meeting Him face-to-face.
Be a submissive child,
Not conformed to your passions;
Nor as ignorant defiled,
Rather spiritual fashions.
He has called you to be holy,
Holy in all your conduct;
And of your conversation,
To spiritually construct.
You shall be holy as Christ,
Because as it is written;
No longer earthly enticed,
Because it is forbidden.
If you call Him as Father,
His judgment is fair and just;
Your counsel is your Brother,
Faith in Christ which you can trust.
Conduct yourself here in fear,
Through the time of exile;
While you honor and revere,
Ransom ways were futile.
Inheritance from the past,
Not with perishable things;
Vain conversations won’t last,
The pleasure no longer brings.
The precious blood of the Lamb,
Which is from Christ our Lord;
And also the great I Am;
Whom we have loved and adored.
Known before the foundation,
Manifested for your sake;
To offer you salvation,
For the confession you make.
Through Christ, you believe in God,
And was raised up from the dead;
With faith to honor and laud,
Eternal life lies ahead.
