Analysis of Untouchable
Joe Strickland 1986 (Hobbysville, SC)
Untouchable, they call us,
A curse upon this land.
Left alone, shunned by society,
We wander aimlessly, unknown.
Forgotten outcasts, labeled impure,
born into a caste not chosen.
No use,
No value,
Unclean,
And rotten,
Oppressed with subtle discrimination.
The touch of others denied to us,
But we are not lesser beings.
We have voices, we have fought,
And our spirits cannot be killed.
We stand tall, unafraid, and strong,
Brothers in a quest for justice.
Untouchable in name only,
We hold the power to change society.
