Analysis of Reincarnation

I don't really understand that process
Called reincarnation.
But, if there is such a thing,
I'd like to come back

As a star in the cosmos.

A flicker of light unbound by time,
Suspended in eternal expanse.
To be a celestial body,
Holding stories within my fiery core.

Birthed from the remnants
Of exploding supernovas,
A cosmic phoenix rising
From ash and stardust.
To radiate warmth and brilliance
Across the vast emptiness.

Watching over distant galaxies
In a silent dance,
Illuminating the night sky's tapestry,
While whispering secrets
To the moon.
To bear witness to the birth of planets.

And see the demise of nebulae,
to feel gravity's pull,
yet remain weightless,
knowing that my existence defies reason.
To exist simply for the sake of being.

Unobserved yet undeniably present,
Granting wishes with each twinkle,
Inspiring poets and dreamers
To map constellations
With trembling hands.

To be a star in the cosmos,
A conduit of hope and wonder,
An eternal reminder
That even in the dark,

There is always light.

Joe Strickland

I'm just a regular, blue collar, working stiff who took an interest in writing poetry many years ago but until recently I haven't had a desire to share any with anyone or pursue publication. I'm an unpublished fork lift operator by night, and a day drinker by choice. I can be followed on Twitter @JoeStricklandSC more…
