Analysis of Selective Amnesia

Sometimes old memories are gone,
At least it feels that way
When I begin to think upon
The tears of yesterday.

My mind protects me as it should
By putting up a wall
That blocks my hindsight of childhood
I did not love at all.

I don't remember much when I
Said goodbye to my dad.
No matter how much I may try,
With good times and bad.

I wonder what my son will see
Inside his memories
When he begins to think of me?
I hope he will be pleased!
