Analysis of Par For the Course

The new golf course was so much fun,
I didn't want to leave,
But then I overheard someone
Tell rumors to friend, Steve

That he had heard the Bogey Man
Was near, of course, the club;
To find a slice of pumpkin and
Some human flesh as grub.

The owner was then notified,
And nearly had a stroke,
Because he had been mortified
And said, "I think you just misspoke."

That's when he realized quite near
An eagle and a birdie
Were causing him a lot of fear;
Their argument was wordy.

He quit that day; I heard him say,
Of course dear Bogey can stay.
