Analysis of Depending upon the LORD
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
I lift up my soul to the Lord,
That I will not be put to shame;
And I remain in one accord,
To my foes that I do proclaim.
Each one of them should be ashamed,
For transgressing without a cause;
Their hostility has enflamed,
Making many treacherous flaws.
I need to know about the Lord,
To learn the focus of His path;
And by walking in one accord,
So I can be spared from His wrath.
I need to be led through His truth,
He is the God of salvation;
No longer shall I be uncouth,
As to be His new creation.
For I need His mercy and grace,
And giving of His steadfast love;
Like of old to feel His embrace,
His blessings flow from up above.
I asked forgiveness for my sin,
That I confessed my transgression;
Purifying me deeply within,
For His grace through my confession.
