J’ai fait de mon Amour cette blanche statue.
Regarde-la. Elle est debout, pensive et nue,
Au milieu du bassin où la mire son eau
Qui l’entoure d’un double et symbolique anneau
De pierre invariable et de cristal fidèle.
La colombe en passant la frôle de son aile,
Car l’Amour est vivant en ce marbre veiné
Qui de son long regard que rien n’a détourné,
Contemple, autour de lui dans l’eau proche apparue,
La fraîcheur de son ombre humide, vaine et nue.
