Analysis of Sustenance

Your laughter washes me
in golden light
and silver haze

spilling a tidal wave
lifting me above
the weight of rock
assault of words
streets and alleyways
stained in blood

Nothing more I need
but this I do
a highway through
this desert world

Your laughter’s the water
that baptizes me
the sacramental bread
of our communion
wreathing us
in fragrant garlands
the sustenance I breathe

drawing to earth
the light of Heaven
