Analysis of Enigma

Enigma
By Arman Hoque

There’s an instant that comes between insanity and clarity,
That strikes like lightning - a moment of singularity.
The instant hits in a moment of such rarity.

It’s easy to get lost without a crutch on which to lean,
The moment forms a bubble - fragile and in between.
It’s hard to lead a normal life’s dream - both simple and clean.
You get attacked by temptation, by nature - vicious and mean.

Time is a path you walk on till you’re done;
How the battle has been fought is reminisced by the ones who have won.
The story is a song just waiting to be sung,
Waiting to be released from the nooses from which we’re hung.

This is not a ballad of redemption or failure;
Or a guide to bring you to a miracle cure.
It’s a moment of spark, brought on by a memory of dark;
That reminds me that in this moment of clarity, beyond this is stark.

Build what you dream for,  walk the path you choose;
Cut off the ties that bind you, some you have to, some you choose.

The mind can be a gift, a miracle, or a curse,
You can swing from one extreme to another,
Depriving yourself of the dark altogether -
That ends up churning difficulty into something worse.

The light needs the dark, just as the dark needs the light.
Without our shifts from tide to tide,  we would lose our sense of right.
Balance is as key, as our shift from night to day;
From ebb to flow, life’s path emerges to find your own way.
You cast your play, set your life in motion,
It’s as predictable and expansive as an ocean.

But you can find freedom in patterns, the ups and the downs.
Be assured a smile will follow those frowns.
Even if you feel you’ll never feel life again,
You need to survive to get through it and you’ll live to remember when.

Life is a dream,  you live it to succeed or fail.
How you’re regarded is by the extent of your trail.
You affect others like the bubble you exude.
Keep balance of the dark and the light you must include.

There’s no success without failure, no win without a loss;
No sweetness of victory without the taste of the cost.

This song is not meant to lecture or preach,
But to touch as many as I’m able to reach.
There’s a darkness behind the very act of healing,
There’s so much unsaid during the process of feeling.
It’s not upside down, but said rightwards back,
During life’s rolling journey, it’s hard to keep track.

This is an optimistic endeavour,
to create a series of thoughts into forever.
To record a few patterns of thoughts and these words,
Then let them fly into the winds and with the birds.
