Analysis of Praise for Mighty Acts
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
Come and hear all you who fear God,
I will tell what He did to my soul;
Because I do honor and laud,
He sent His Spirit to control.
Controlling my lips what comes out,
To give high praise upon my tongue;
No longer raising any doubt,
No more blasphemy to be flung.
Once I cherished iniquity,
The Lord never listened to me;
Since there was no tranquility,
Within my heart that He could see.
But truly the Lord has now heard,
Attended to my voice in prayer;
When I started to read His Word,
And the confessions that I share.
Blessed be God of our Lord,
Not removing His steadfast love;
As my prayers no longer ignored,
As His mercy flows from above
