Analysis of Pass Me Not

Pass me not,
As a replica of you to view.
To portray and display,
Anything you do I can too!

I am not a copy of your negative ways.
Nor have I yet to try,
Denial to live it lieing to myself.
From day to day.

Call me a rebel, maverick or nonconformist.
Even those depictions,
Are not suitable to have them fit.
Yet I do admit,
My charading to masquerade...
In those costumes made me sick of it.

I am a positive reflection,
Of past mistakes I have made.
With a doing to evaluate,
The why and when I had been afraid to be me.

Then I began to listen to pay attention,
To others blindly enslaved.
Understanding more to comprehend,
I am not them.
Alone in a direction best for me to begin.

For whatever the reason,
I stopped my attempts...
To be approved and accepted.
By those parading their pretentions.
I began to reject,
Following behind those who allowed...
Themselves to remain on a narrow path.
Crowded by naysayers without faith to keep.
Yet stayed on a path exquisitely crafted.

Not even a few could see,
Beyond a deceiving...
Falsely decorated to create,
An alternate reality.

That would ultimately leave them at the end,
Disbelieving tricks for them to treat.
Would appease their anticipations.
Nowhere were there promises made at all.
Only sorrows to share together.
And regrettable grief.
To divide and fight themselves.
Over who deserves to get what is left,
Of a fiction to delude it.
With a selishness kept to keep,
Defended and by all mean kept protected.

But...
What were they protecting?
And who inherited,
A nothing there left to defend!?

Pass me not,
As a replica of you to view.
To portray and display,
Anything you do I can too!

You had at one time,
Called and depicted me...
As a rebel.
A maverick.
A nonconforming fool.

Back then I refused,
Those comments about me made.
But today?
I can only say...
I thank God to have been made this way!
