Analysis of bright day

The sun is breaking, and it is dawn,
I look out over the field and see a fawn.
It dances and prances and looks for foliage,
The pretty little thing is eating it's porage.
I look farther on and there is a bear,
It is looking for something on which to tear.
I am frightened for my darling little creature,
For the bear is headed for the fawn's pasture.
I run for my rifle to head off the monster,
but I am too late, I see the fawn in his fur.
I shoot for the bear, maybe I can save it,
The bear goes down, and he ain't fakin' it.
There isn't any movement from that sight,
My little friend has had his last plight.
Then a head pops up and to my delight,
It's my little friend, all bushy tailed and bright.
