Analysis of Sit down

Valiantstar 1961 (Sydney)

If I can't sit down in the afternoon
To write a riddle or play a tune...

What's it all about?

If I must rush around like a blue arse fly to get me fortune before I die,

What a miserable soul am I.

If I can't sit here and commune with my heart
Where the hell would I start?

Don't get me wrong I followed those,
But now find them on the nose.

By the way
I love it here
Kicking back with a smoke and a beer.

Knowing that I have a guide
When others think
I am on the slide.
