Analysis of "Fire Waits"

An invitation came today
from the Devil’s hand
Two short words addressed my fate
damnation his command

“Arrive at midnight, don’t be late”
inside he wrote in blood
“Wear something light, the fire waits”
—perdition’s victimhood
