Analysis of Creator Praise
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
The Lord looks down from Heaven,
He sees the children of man;
And all that He has given,
In accordance with His plan.
From where He has sat enthroned,
Looks at the inhabitants;
Seeing who has been atoned,
Confessing through repentance.
He fashions the hearts of them,
Observing all of their deeds;
For He will never condemn,
Those who would have righteous needs.
The king is not saved by a host,
A multitude of soldiers;
Not delivered when they boast,
As being great warriors.
The war horse is a false hope,
Delivered with salvation;
Of his great strength cannot cope,
Without a new foundation.
The eyes of the Lord are on,
Those who hope in steadfast love;
While showing fear upon,
As they are looking above.
From death, God rescues their soul,
In famine, are kept alive;
The willingness to console,
This life and the next survive.
