Analysis of Few Seem Seeking New Summits To Find
Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)
Few seem these days to be seeking,
New heights to climb.
And their summits to reach.
With a doing done to explore beyond,
Mental limits placed upon themselves...
Restricting to face opportunities,
Free to receive them given.
If they dared to adventure,
Leaving comfort zones known.
Too many condone their own lives to live,
In a repetitive routine.
Relying upon an addicting to nonsense.
With a dose of it prepared and shared,
Around others awaiting...
To add their lack of using common sense.
While all are left to feel relieved,
That no one expresses to be happy.
And done to admit of being blessed,
On a daily basis to expect...
Being aggravated by someone.
Who knows just how to lift their spirits up!
'The World is in a total disaster.
And everything I paid less for last week?
Has doubled in price.
Yet...'On Sale' signs are everywhere.
Taking 50% off on items overpriced,
'Well...
There is one thing,
We all can look forward to coming.'
'Oh?
Like what?'
'Cars battery powered.
With everything attached to electricity.
Even artificially connected intelligence.
And when there is blackout,
Because of a collapse of over use...
Of an outdated infrastructure.
We all can sit around campfires made.
Hoping someone has a lighter or match.
To burn gasoline bought for pennies.
While singing KUMBAHYAH together.'
'What a fantastic idea.
But,
I think we all should right now...
Become proactive.
And gather sticks to learn,
How best to rub them together.
Just in case they may be needed.'
'That to do would be going backward.
Not forward in times like these!'
'And...
You say that to mean what?'
