Analysis of Previous Fragments

Few memories will stay the same
When many years have passed.
Events that happened as they came
And some that did not last.

Unhappy memories are not
Allowed to dwell in me,
I do not need each painful thought
Or what life came to be.

The memories I like to "view"
Inside my mind have changed.
The "scenes" are fading as they do
And some seem rearranged.

I wonder as my hair turns gray
Quite slowly, will my son
Have memories of happy days
Or will his mind "see" none?
