Analysis of Afraid To Lose

Many are afraid to lose,
Their appearance of vitality.
Associated with a fading youth.

Many are afraid to lose,
A status gained to have it.
And a loss of respect not to expect it gone.

Yet,
Some will lose their entire paycheck.
At a casino to have not a regret.
Then go back to where they live.
With excuses to give.
To not accept being rejected.
By creditors, children and friends too!
Listening to more excuses used.
Made to say and heard to hear,
How money to have to pay the bills...
Had been stolen by a mugger.
While leaving a church,
After praying for luck.
But...
For whatever the reason,
That mugger had been standing...
Outside of a casino.
While waiting for a bus.
Demanding then for the keys,
For a brand new car.
That mugger hopped in to drive away!

'Why on Earth,
Could you tell such a big lie!'

'The minister said the same thing to me.
When we both were inside the casino.
And he asked of me to donate,
At least 20% of my winnings.
To his church.
That was right across the street!'

'Wait a minute.
You had said you were leaving a church.
After praying for luck.'

'Everything happened so fast.
I meant to say I was near a church praying.
And someone dressed as if a minister.
Convinced me...
If I gave to him my last dime.
God would then provide my ever need.'

'And you expect us to believe that?'

'Where is your faith?
Where is your forgiveness?
And understanding?
What I did to do,
Was for all of us to accept our blessings!'

'We will accept our blessings more.
If you turned around.
And walked out that door.
To never come back!
Who do you think we are?
Fools, idiots or just stupid?'

'That to behold,
Is not my eyes.
Or for me,
To pass that kind of judgement.
I'm only a messenger.
Delivering the truth as is to be!'
