Analysis of HOME IS HOME
Kabiru Abdullahi 2000 (Doganjeji)
Home is a sanctuary,,,,,,
Basking in the warmth of the sun,,, or resting beneath a leafless tree,,,
Every bird sings the song learned in the cradle nest,,,,
Though I may lack the water,,,,,,, like a duck must visit,,,,,,
Home is home,a traveler's solace.
A blind black ant bleeds while building a hole for its young,
It witnesses black ants swarming a farmer, caught between the hole and grains,
Rain beats down on fruits, teaching lessons for tomorrow's growth,
It holds a rose to warm frozen hearts amidst the green grasses by the shore.
It tells its branches to spread out into the world,
But its roots remain its origin,
Like a lion hunting through nights, ruling without days,
Yet even the smallest roar takes the moon's position in the sky.
A lazy lizard taps its head when the wind carries a great voice,
Home is home, calling to all travelers.
