Analysis of Purpose of Writing
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
I am very eager to write,
Of our common salvation;
For a faith that gives us insight,
With a spiritual foundation.
Faith once delivered to the saints,
That crept in and had been ignored;
For condemnation with constraints,
As designated by the Lord.
Gentiles who pervert His grace,
For sensuality deny;
Will never meet Him face-to-face,
And never to feel His embrace.
Although you once fully knew it,
Who saved the people who believed;
Of the gift that you inherit,
And the salvation you received.
And the angels who did not stay,
In their place of authority;
Left their dwelling to go astray,
The dark inferiority.
They are chained up until the day,
For judgment in gloomy darkness;
Desires that they disobey,
Immorally in their starkness.
Sexual immorality,
Of their unnatural desire;
That causes a judgmentally,
Vengeance of eternal fire.
