Analysis of The Letter (unsent)

The Letter (unsent)

My dearest angel, I write to you
From the depths of my heart
Knowing we can never be apart
Nor together in this world
though I truly love you.

I miss the sounds of our hearts
beating together as one. As I dream
of our intensity and intimacies felt
both desired and wished to be.

Time and hope expressed as
our passions for each other resound.
My dearest angel, I dream of our union
of spirits that will last forever.

I remember caressing your hair and
Touching your delicate shoulders,
They were so faint yet the strongest
of memories I hold of you.

I will wait for you in
the land of our Lord as
I am sure I will go with
broken heart to him
before your time.
