Analysis of The river

Kelley Davies 1983 (Dallas)

Time sleeps in my absence

I am caught between banks of the river

I see stars, but no storms

I want out, not in

I see you there watching me

Judging where I am

I wish too that I wasn't this way

I will change for you, mother

I will be the change our family needs

I love you all so much

I can't continue to live this way

Maybe the earth can shatter and the light come through the cracks

I am here for you

I will always be there for you.
