Analysis of The Fall
Chantell Wild 1977 (East London)
He placed her on a pedestal
And fed her milk and honey
Gently clipped her wings
And showered her with money
She was his wife, he was her life
Until the day she fell
It wasn’t long before she found
The waiting arms of Hell
One mistake yet no reprove
He merely walked away
As silently she shed her tears
And stared out in dismay
The distance between love and loss
Is no more than a sigh
Easy come hello
And easy come goodbye.

About this poem
Some people have high expectations that are easily let down. What is love? Trying to own a woman is like picking a flower - so pretty in its freedom to be, yet once plucked it dies faster than it would in its natural habitat. Love cannot be owned.
