Analysis of Voice of Protest

Voice of Protest

Hail the people who made the choice
To give the downtrodden a singular voice.
Like a candle holds the night at bar
Protests indicate an unjustifiable war.

When events are happening in a land so far,
It’s common to look no further than how they say things are.
To those who look deeper to reveal what’s true.
Then implement pro activity in the things that they do.

Light a proverbial candle to keep in our mind
When the dust settles, what’ll be left there to find?
War isn’t license to commit war crimes.
Protest raises a red flag in these gray area times.

When actions are questionable,
When things seem wrong,
Taking action, taking steps
Make the collective strong.

A generation ago, during a different war,
Protests fuelled a voice to not go too far.
Now again, some injustice is met
With a voice of protest
Reminding the collective and all the rest
To prevent a worse outcome maybe yet.
