Analysis of La Bouchère

Maurice Rollinat 1846 (Châteauroux) – 1903 (Ivry-sur-Seine)

La vache lentement chemine
Entre le chaume et le regain ;
La bouchère suit, cou sanguin,
Moustache noire et belle mine.

Par instants, son œil s’illumine :
Elle a dû faire un fameux gain !
— La vache lentement chemine
Entre le chaume et le regain.

Et tandis qu’à chaque chaumine
S’arrête le petit doguin,
Devant la commère en béguin,
— Douce et blanche comme une hermine,
La vache lentement chemine.
