Analysis of In the darkness

Toni Dulaney 1989 (Ohio)

Sometimes things in life do not end to good,
Especially when we cannot express some of the things we probably should.
Life goes on but we miss so much,
We push others away yet we miss their touch.
Missing out on life because we do not wish to dream,
Being in the dark but feeling as though its not what it seems.
Keeping secrets when secrets keep us sick,
Yearning for relationships even though they never stick.
Wanting love but not knowing what it takes,
Constantly pushing away but never learning from our mistakes.
Will we finally grow up and learn from this,
Or will love be something we'll forever miss?
