Analysis of haiku gospel (water into wine)
haiku gospel (water into wine)
Cana, Galilee
Jesus with His disciples
at a wedding feast
His mother, Mary:
The wine has run out! Woman...
What is that to us?
My time is not yet!...
Do whatever He tells you...
(She to the servants)
six stone water jars
there for Jewish ablutions
holding firkins each
Fill these to the brim...
Draw out now for the chief guest...
to whom it was brought
water turned to wine
he knew not the origin
and called the bridegroom
Men start with fine wine
then drink what is weak, but you
save the best for last.
The first miracle
shone Jesus' glory and His
disciples believed.
