Analysis of My Big Sister
Most everybody has one
I had none
An older sibling to guide me
and be by myside
but t'was not to be.
To myself, I kept my thoughts
As slowing along, I struggled
learning to be independent
with no one to confide
my angst and growing-up pains.
Entering med school in my teens
losing childhood friends along the way
was more than I could bear
With classmates much older than I
lost in a grown-up world was I
How I wished things were different.
Along came an angel who put me
through the straight and narrow
and shot me like an arrow
hitting the target where I am today
She's the big sister I now have.
