Analysis of Vampyre

Dark clouds haze over
Their mystery burning
Stirring madness

Each word boils
Chaos seeps through
Veins pumped black

They suffocate the sun
Tearing it from view
Pupils dilate

Keep awake
Stay aware
Listen for their wings

Screams of dismay
Shadows dance
Spinning in death

They sing and rejoice
With each soul they take
Hold tight to yours

Hide in the light
Press your talisman
Whisper your prayers

The night is theirs
Hope they don't find you
Curled into a ball

Fangs gleam white
Using seduction
To get into your jugular

Jillian Veitenheimer

My writing is a way for things to flow out of me that I didn't even know was within me. By sharing it with all the other poets out there I can rebuild my strength in myself. I can free my soul and let it soar in the stars. Let the wind rip me free of the being that carries my emotions. Poetry is my heart beat. more…
