The Lord Will Judge
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
Knowledge to whom He will teach,
And will explain the message;
Understand doctrine to reach,
Comprehending each passage.
Those who are weaned from the milk,
Those no longer suckle breast;
Life no longer smooth as silk,
No longer gets any rest.
Tis precept upon precept,
It is a line upon line;
Here and there as a concept,
Praising the Holy Divine.
For by people of strange lips,
A foreign tongue for the Lord;
And as their foot never slips,
For speaking in one accord.
For God has said this is rest,
Giving rest to the weary;
Able to tolerate best,
At times when dark and dreary.
Refreshed but they do not hear,
As the Word of the Lord be;
Line upon line to revere,
To receive insight to see.
